Unison Joints is proud to play a role in one of Brisbane’s most ambitious developments to date — a $3.6 billion multipurpose residential and entertainment precinct that’s reshaping the city skyline. This world-class destination will feature Australia’s largest casino resort, luxury residences, and an incredible sky deck offering panoramic views of the river city.
Our Scope
For this landmark project, Unison Joints was engaged by Multiplex to design, manufacture, and supply 892 metres of bespoke expansion joint systems, purpose-engineered for the demands of mixed-use environments combining high pedestrian activity with stringent fire and waterproofing requirements.
The project specification included:
Brass cover plates, bead blasted to achieve a P5 slip resistance rating, ensuring both durability and safety in public spaces.
Integrated fire barriers designed to meet AS/NZS standards, protecting against fire spread between structural elements.
Waterproof seals that maintain performance in all weather conditions, supporting the project’s longevity and compliance goals.

As part of the extensive redevelopment at St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace, Unison Joints has proudly supplied over 530 metres of precision-engineered expansion joints to support the transformation of a six-level primary school building.

The majority of joints installed feature our PyI fire-rated wall strips, all designed and manufactured in our Brisbane factory. These innovative wall joint systems are fitted with intumescent fire seals and are:

Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct Redevelopment
As part of the major redevelopment of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct in New South Wales, Unison Joints proudly supplied the complete range of expansion joint systems throughout the facility. This included floor, wall, and ceiling joints, as well as critical seismic-rated floor seals designed to accommodate multi-directional movement while maintaining safety and performance in a high-traffic healthcare environment.

Our systems were selected for their proven durability, compliance with relevant Australian Standards, and ability to integrate seamlessly with various flooring finishes across surgical theatres, public corridors, and service zones. The inclusion of seismic joints was essential due to the building’s structural design and performance requirements in the event of ground movement.

The airport is a large, complex project with a significant construction task. The design emphasizes functionality, ensuring efficiency, and incorporates resilient planning for lasting impact.

We have over 30 years of experience, with our expansion joint systems installed in 23 international & domestic airports terminals. Marvel Stadium Melbourne is currently under refurbishment.

Since December 2022 numerous orders for Unisons Vt100S wall expansion joint product for the Marvel Stadium have been dispatched to Melbourne. Being Australian made our lead times are minimal. Unison stock a large number of movement joint systems including cover plates, seismic, water proof seal and fire rated expansion in our Brisbane Factory.
