Project:9,000 sqm expansion making it 70,000 sqm. The largest convention and exhibition venue in Australia, and is one of the largest event spaces in the southern hemisphere.
Scope:Supply 597 metres of Expansion Joints, Heavy duty & medium aluminium and stainless steel cover plates, waterproof seals, fire barriers seals and pathogenic floor & wall seals.

Unison also supplied 356 metres of Expansion Joints in 2008’s new build.  All expansion systems are still functioning after 15 years!  Longevity is the reason Architects specify our products. Internal & External Expansion & Redevelopment

Two water barrier systems were required due to the size and depth of the construction joints.  Unison Expansion Joint water seal and Hypalon gland enabled the gaps to be watertight.

Various sizes of Pyro fire barriers expansion strips & specified sized brackets for the mechanical floor joints were made to order in our Brisbane factory.

Unison movement joint fire insulators are tested and certified to AS 1530.4 AS 4072.1 & BS 476.2.

AccG – Our epoxy grout was used to repair the crumbling of the concrete in the Expansion Joint gap. Unlike other grouts Unison’s is manufactured to expand and contract with movement.

The Convention Centre building is 450 metres in length, 120 m wide and 24 m high. The complex roof design is based on five hyperbolic paraboloids. The building is stabilised by concrete shear walls and clad in steel.

Unison movement joint fire insulators are tested and certified to AS 1530.4 AS 4072.1 & BS 476.2.
