Unison has been supplying and installing Woolworths Nationally with expansion joints for 19 years.

Woolworths Supermarket contracted Unison to supply and install our brass expansion joint in their Deloraine Store in Tasmania in 2003.

Since our first contract with Woolworths there has been many changes, from the LOGO in 2003 to the fit out new builds and refurbishment of existing stores.

Unison’s expansion joint systems including water seal and fire strips have been installed into 191 stores Nationally. Our products are Approved by Woolworths Design Engineers and are listed in the current specification.

Every store has different finishes either to the substrate flooring or suspended slabs and slab on ground. The variety of floor finishes, vinyl, tiled, polished concrete or exposed aggregate are unique to each construction. Unison have every movement joint system to suit Woolworths needs including heavy duty construction joint systems for loading docks or Back of House.

Unison were excited to supply over 130 metres of our Designer low profile DzD expansion joint together with our fire barrier strip to the new Redland Bay Store Brisbane.

Unison DzD range is a Revolutionary design which combines slim visual width, low profile, and hidden fixings. This floor cover plate system is designed for use in polished concrete, roll-coat epoxy, tiles, vinyl and other floor finishes. Low profile and slender width allows for minimal substrate rebating. Leaves no visual grout line when applied to polish or trowel-finished concrete. Suitable for supermarket, high-end retail or commercial fit-outs with rebating constraints. Stadiums, transit-centres and other buildings with suspended-slab or slab-on-ground concrete.

With Australia experiencing unprecedented levels of rainfall, our AquoP expansion joint water seal has been in high demand.

Shopping centres in particular are experiencing leaking car parks, due to existing expansion seals failing, inconveniencing customers and tenants. AquoP is trusted by Westfield Australia and New Zealand. Scentre Group Design and Construct (Westfield) have approved our car park expansion joint systems are in the Westfield specification.

Every length is measured before and after manufacturing to ensure the expansion joint is water tight

Unison have partnered with concrete remedial/waterproofing companies throughout Australia to replace the existing failed, leaking car park expansion joints.

From January until July 2022 Unison have supplied and manufactured 1657 Km of AquoP water seal.

All expansion joints are manufactured in our Brisbane factory lead by our engineering technical team. Why trust products that are not 100% Australian made, Unison manufacture to Australian standards and our climate into consideration.

Aquo P water seal expansion joint performs without generating noise, keeping carparks, bridges and open-air concrete structures watertight.

Where inferior water seals leak (at junctions and upturns), Aquo P uses simple, quality welding technology. When correctly installed the system provides a 100% waterproof expansion joint seal. It has UV inhibitors for longevity and is tested to a 3-metre head of water, making it ideal for concrete swimming pools and dams. Aquo P can be used in conjunction with Unison car park cover plate and fire rating systems. It is suitable for most types of construction including internal and external expansion joint waterproofing: multi-story carparks, rooftop carparks, hospitals, retail centres, amenities, stadiums (especially plats), convention centres.
